Kcare Homes

At Kcare Homes, we believe in the highest standards of support for each individual tenant, with the level if support tailored to the needs of the individual. For those in need of intensive support we have staff on site 24 hours a day. Our dedicated manager is an RMN who is available Monday to Friday. An experienced team support the manager and include a staff presence throughout the night.

Each tenant is assigned a named key worker and co-key worker to provide appropriate levels of support in line with their support plans. These plans are centred around each individual’s needs and are reviewed regularly to reflect the changing needs of the tenant.

Our Support Workers are carefully selected, trained and supervised to ensure that they are sensitive and competent, giving due consideration to the social, religious and cultural needs of the people in their care.

Our staff are fully supported in formal training programmes such as NVQs, Care Certificate. Medication Level 2 and specific training care programmes related to the mental health needs of our tenants.

Accommodation can include:

Supported Living arrangements, with the greater access to financial benefits that these bring, inevitably allow tenants to have more control over many aspects of their lives and create greater freedom for tenants to live their lives in the way they choose.

They can make greater use of community facilities to provide a full leisure and social activity programme, paid for with their own money. Budgeting, menu planning, shopping and cooking are just some of the skills they can develop through greater autonomy.

Somewhere to call home

It is important that residents feel that this is their home. We encourage them to treat it as such. Rooms can be personalised, and privacy is fully respected at all times. Residents are encouraged to invite and entertain friends whenever they wish, as long as they give consideration to fellow tenants. Smoking is only allowed outside in a designated area for legal reasons. Residents can prepare their own meals and snacks and there is a utility room equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer for their use. They even clean the communal areas of their own home to enhance their daily living skills. Our homes have communal facilities such as lounge, garden, games room and gym.

Kcare Homes approach is based on the Government White Papers ‘Valuing People’ and ‘Supporting People’ which means we focus on such issues as tenants’ rights, inclusion, choice and independence.

Our philosophy of care is based on an individual-centred model for community rehabilitation. This approach encourages individuals to work independently, valuing their self-determination and belief in enabling them to achieve their aim of sustainable independent living.

Our specialist staff team involves each individual in creating a support plan to meet their emotional and physical needs. We will match team members to each person. Support is available from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including 1:1 support. We provide support a range of support to enable individuals to lead a more enriching and fulfilling lives. This includes:

Skill development, teaching you skills to promote your independence, which could include day to day skills like cooking, handling money, housework and getting public transport.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). For people with challenging behaviour, mental health issues or addiction, this can help you to recognise when and why negative behaviours happen and to develop techniques to help to prevent them and positive steps to take after the behaviours happen.
